do you think you will ever expand on the "tech" type upgrades?

yes, i’ve had a Cookie Clicker science update planned for a long time now! it’ll have a variety of branching upgrades that affect various aspects of the gameplay! i’ll get back to it……in a while

i’m working on a Cookie Clicker update but on the side i’ve also been making this

it’s fun ok

exactly nobody asked for this but i’m trying to un-rust myself so this is what i just spent the last couple hours on :

RandomGen has been updated after 6 years of inactivity, fixing a handful of bugs and adding a couple new features, such as the ability to pick a root generator at will on source files that support it (demonstrated here with my name generator)

the parser is also less finicky with whitespace (lines are now trimmed), tho this means if you explicitly want spaces at the start or end of a line you’ll need to write them as [ ]

i still want to make a community portal where people can upload and rate their own generators, but there’s already a subreddit which might work just as well for the time being

check the help page if you want to fiddle with it and make your own random generators

(someone) hey man it’s ok if you’re not productive, the quarantine’s been affecting everyone. just take your time dude

(me who’s been living like a hermit for the past 8 years) h-haha… yes… the quarantine

oh ! glad to see this site found a way to get even worse somehow. good for them !

hey sorry i’ve had the energetic potential of a soggy cheerio please bear with me oooghgfhghfgh

Is there a non-flash version of cookie-clicker available for when Flash support is dropped in December?

i’ve got good news ! Cookie Clicker is not, and has never been Flash-based

instead it uses a combination of HTML, CSS and javascript, which are basic website building blocks and are therefore supported damn near everywhere !

robobun asked: Is Nested 2 going to have non-human civilizations inhabiting some planets? I think it would be fun to find like crab kingdoms & such

image

well actually

working on lotsa things !

have some chill fancy beats

orteil42:

something neat with Nested is that due to the recursive nature of the game, you can get anywhere from roughly anywhere else

for instance while coding cells i was spawning a bunch of bacteria for testing purposes, and felt too lazy to change that when i wanted to see if plant cells worked too

so what i did is i just kept going deeper into one bacteria’s cell membrane’s atoms until it spawned a new sub-universe where i found an inhabited planet where i found an industrialized country where i found a house where i found a kitchen where i found a jar of cherry jam in one of the cabinets

image

plant cells working as specified

in case you’re lost, this is the sequel i’m currently working on to this game i made in 2011 (2 years before Cookie Clicker !)

it’s always been my most personal project and i’m glad i finally found the motivation to get back to it
