i’m trying to get the new beta out as soon as i can for whatever silly self-inflicted reason… last year’s new building beta dropped on christmas too. at the same time i’ll be staying over at my grandpa’s place for a few days after christmas, the same house in which i made the first version of Cookie Clicker all those years ago. wouldn’t be too unfitting if i finished the final building update there
by the way if you’re not familiar with what i mean by “final building” this is the last building i’ve got planned in the progression and don’t currently expect to add any more beyond that! it absolutely does not mean i’m done updating Cookie Clicker, i still have a whole lot on my plate ie. revamped research system, dungeons, minigames for every building, autoclickers, sub-buildings etc etc i’ve got enough stuff planned for so many more years of updates please don’t worry about that

posted a very verbose thread regarding my views on AI art over on twitter, tl;dr is “i’m not going to pretend this isn’t some of the coolest shit i’ve seen in a long time BUT this also sucks in so many ways ethics-wise and i’m not touching it until we figure some things out”
i’ve mentioned it before but at some point after i’ve taken care of some more pressing content updates i’d really like to take some time to completely overhaul building displays, notably adding some actual gameplay relevance to them and redoing some old assets that i feel were kind of phoned in and have never been fully satisfied with. i mean look at these. come on

jokes aside an annoyance with my pixel art is consciously or not i tend to draw it with 2x upscaling in mind, which is how the little upgrade/achievement icons are done; anything that gets displayed at 1:1 screen resolution often suffers from me adding little details that don’t read very well at that scale
speaking of which since this may be the last time i touch the buildings spritesheet for a while i figured i’d give the wizard tower a 2nd makeover. little bit happier with it this time!

i am Trying but my time management skills are profoundly subpar and i gotta implement the final building in the desktop version before the year ends or i will look like a ninny; i’ll post progress on the mobile update while desktop goes through beta. on the bright side this means when i do release the new mobile version it’ll have the complete set of buildings
